Dorset Marine Conservationist Steve has dismissed reports that the majority of pollution is found in the sea.
Steve litter picks every day and disagrees with Theresa May’s 25 year plan to reduce ocean pollution.
He believes that the shipping industry is the biggest contributor to pollution in the sea.
This follows the news that British supermarket Iceland have vowed to swap their plastic packaging to paper in a bid to reduce plastic pollution.
Subsequently, fast food chain McDonalds pledged to make the same commitment.
Research undertaken by Iceland’s Winton branch showed that 80% of their clientele would welcome paper packaging.
We spoke to the Winton supervisor, Blaise, about why it’s important to reduce their plastic usage:
